Focus and Scope

Mosaic is a refereed online music journal founded by graduate students at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. The journal publishes research in music theory and musicology in a wide variety of multi-media formats including text, video, audio, and interactive web content. Each issue features articles, presentations, reviews, and communications.

Mosaic is an annual online publication. Submissions are accepted year-round on a rolling basis.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal currently provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Mission Statement

Mosaic's purpose is to present a forum where innovative research in historical musicology and music theory converge with time-honored traditions. The journal bridges these disciplines with articles that complement one another, each individual perspective contributing a new tile to the mosaic of music research.
